We're launching an upper valley radio station: for residents, by residents.
Leavenworth Community Radio is a nonprofit local station that connects our unique community through accessible, educational, and entertaining programming.
The Story: Once upon a time, deep in the midst of a pandemic, two friends dreamed of the connection and serenity that a small-town radio station could bring into the homes of their "socially-distanced" community. Everywhere they turned they saw their vibrant, engaged, community longing for connection and eventually they found themselves asking, "why dream, when you can stream?" Soon after, they were joined by more dreamers: musicians, organizers and lovers of radio all came together to found Leavenworth Community Radio.
We're starting a online radio station, funded, organized and enjoyed by the greater Leavenworth area, hosting programs created by residents and live performances from local artists.
We are on our way, folks, but LCR needs your support. Radio stations, even internet radio stations, have significant upfront expenses, and the sooner we get those covered the sooner we can start entertaining you!
In addition to individual donations, we are also looking for LCR Sponsors! If you would like to tune into LCR at your place of business, we would love to make you a Station Sponsor!
And as important as funding is, we are also looking for volunteer show hosts, technical specialists, equipment donations, and a place for our station to call home. With our first $5000, we will purchase the minimum startup equipment, get incorporated as a 501c3, and continue fundraising. With the first $15,000 we will rent a space for our station and get to streaming as much as we can on volunteer time alone. With our first $25,000 we can furnish the station to expand our range of content and with the full $50,000 or more we will aim to stream 24/7, compensate station hosts, and organize live performances and community events!
